BIO
Kate Powell (b. 1991) is an artist living and working in Tacoma, Washington. Kate is a recent graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Low-Residency MFA program (2024), and is a recent Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant awardee (2025). Kate is currently invested in parallel practices of observational painting, in which she combines found and chosen objects into ambiguous arrangements that advance an expansive definition of still life, and imaginative drawing, in which she synergizes relationships between graphic quality and narrative content.
